Conophytum maximum f. monstrous (Succulents)

The monstrous shape of this succulent presents some anomalies of the shape, such as asymmetries, reliefs that make each exemplar unique and for this reason very sought after by collectors. In the normal form C. maximum is a fast growing succulent that expands horizontally creating cushions with multiple heads. The name 'maximum' derives from the fact that this species has larger dimensions than the other succulents of the genus. The epidermis is greyish green with dark dots.Between late summer and mid-autumn from the small crack between the leaves bloom large pink or white flowers.
