Succulent formed by pale green opaque stems that branch rapidly, tending to grow curved and sometimes creeping to the ground, where they root with great ease. Each stem is equipped with four strongly angular ribs, enriched by soft and protruding teeth , spaced regularly. Depending on the sun exposure, the plant tends to get really peculiar red-brownish streaks. They match perfectly with the real strong point of C. vaga: its flowers are very large, in the shape of a star with 5 strongly elongated points, from the fleshy petals of a beautiful bright red pleasantly mottled of yellow or brown hues!
