The name of the genus Adromischus derives from the Greek words "adros" that means "abundant" and "mischòis" that means "stem", in fact this plant is characterized by thick tufts of leaves growing along a central stem. It is a perennial herbaceous succulent plant with slow growth and tuberous roots which over time develop into a caudex, where it stores water in order to survive during drought periods. Leaves are fleshy and roundish, of a bluish-green color spotted with red-burgundy. Flowering takes place on small and long stem, blooming with greenish yellow tubular flowers with pinkish tips.
