It is also known as Parodia schlosseri. Its name comes from Hugo Schlosser, who discovered it. It is a cactacea plant of a monstrous shape, which distinguishes it and makes it a unique specimen. The irregular dark green stem is covered with small downy white areoles, from which numerous thin spines emerge. At the apex it has a denser and darker woolly agglomeration with long brown spines.
