The monstrous shape of a cactus presents anomalies in its appearance such as asymmetries, lack of spines or deformities that will always be different in different plants. For this reason each monstrous specimen will be different from the others, unique in its kind and highly appreciated by collectors around the world. This mammillary in its normal form has a green globose stem and is generally solitary. Its protruding tubercles are numerous and end with a fluffy areola. Its spines come out from the areoles and are radial and central: the first are thin, white while the central ones are generally 4-5 in number, they are yellowish with brown tips and hooked. During the flowering period, at the apex of the stem bloom beautiful flowers with light pink petals at the margins and darker pink almost fuchsia in the central part.
