The monstrous shape of a cactaceae has anomalies, for example asymmetries in the stem, diversity of the thorns or particular protuberances that make that exemplar absolutely unique and never identical to others, for this extremely sought after by true connoisseurs. In its normal form it is a cactus with small size, globose stem and dark green color. It has numerous conical protuberances. At the ends of these, small areoles form, slightly woolly, from which emerge red spines with a hooked shape, and thin. Long white spines wrap around the stem. It produces funnel-shaped, whitish yellow flowers.
