The Mammillaria bocasana cv. Fred f. monster crested is a very particular cultivar, which is highly sought after by green collectors. It takes its name from the collector, who discovered it, since initially it was discovered, not created, as a natural mutation of the plant. This cactus, which actually looks more aesthetically like a succulent, has very strange shapes (that's why it has the 'monster' denomination), it consists of green and purple globules of a few centimeters in size, that tend to cluster, from which rare thin whitish spines of the typical bocasana form emerge. The crested shape of this cactacea does not have the typical appearance of a continuous fan, but is usually characterized by small crests within the tubercle clusters.
