Pot: 10 cm.
The name of this extraordinary succulent native to Kenya comes from the Latin 'pinguis' which means fat, referring to the appearance of its leaves. Its natural habitat is arid, rocky and at an altitude ranging from 50 to 250 m above sea level. S. pinguicula is very known for its peculiarity that distinguishes it from all the Sansevieria: unlike the others, it develops long and robust aerial roots which end in a new plant. This characteristic makes it highly sought after by collectors all over the world and thanks to its particular bearing is also called Sansevieria ambulante. It grows slowly and can reach a maximum height of 30 cm. Its leaves are fleshy, arranged in rosette and moon-shaped ending with a tip. The skin is bluish green, with a pruine that protects it from the elements.
