This species is made special thanks to its variegation, which can be seen by looking at the plant and realizing that some parts are lighter in the points where there is a lack of chlorophyll. To make it even more interesting, there is the typical fan-shaped crest. Commonly considered "the most sensual of cacti", it is a columnar plant typical of all Cereus, which in nature can reach 2 meters in height. The stem, of a lively light green, has perfectly symmetrical longitudinal ribs and equipped with long, very thin, straight and sparse brownish-yellow thorns. A typical feature of this plant is to present, in mature age, flowers that bloom only in the hours of darkness and then wither in the middle of the morning: despite their short duration, their delicate colors and imposing dimensions give an unimaginable spectacle!
