Description:
This wonderful specimen of globular cactus presents itself in this mutation showing off a very particular fan crest. Each crested plant is one of a kind and for this reason highly sought after by collectors all over the world. Parodia chrysacanthion is also called “golden powder puff” and can grow up to a diameter of about 10 centimeters. It has a flattened body at the apex, light green in color, completely covered with long golden needle-like spines, dense and well straight. At the apex the spines tend to thicken even more as they are directed upwards, truly creating the impression of golden down thanks to the thick presence of spines and white fluff. During the flowering period, in spring, it will give us beautiful yellow flowers.

Plant care:
It likes very bright positions, however avoid direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day.
It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 8 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.
Water moderately, only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer, once a month in autumn and to suspend watering completely in winter.
A soil suitable for cacti is an optimal solution, even better if further mixed with pumice or lapilli.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
