The crested shape of this cactaceae presents the typical fan arrangement that makes each exemplar absolutely unique, never identical to another and for this reason very appreciated by collectors. Known also as Parodia buiningii, in its normal form it is a usually solitary cactus with roundish shape slightly flattened at the apex, with protruding well defined ribs. The white and fluffy areoles carry 5-7 long and rigid spines, with a pale greenish color with brown shades at the base.
