The crested form of this wonderful cacti presents the typical compact fan disposition that will never be the same from one plant to the other, with the adding of geometric anomalies as bumps or thorns diversities, typical of the monstrosity of the cactus, that together contributes in making this specimen absolutely unique, a real gem craved by every expert collector! In its normal form M. elongata looks like a cluster cactus formed by multiple cylindrical stems that do not reach considerable heights, but rather tend to give life to pillows with multiple heads. Each stem is equipped with spirally arranged tubercles and wooly roundish areoles, from which erupts combed star-disposed thorns that take on pleasantly bold yellow-gold shades.
