Mammillaria carnea f.crested (Crested)

The crested shape of this cactus has in some parts the typical compact fan arrangement, which makes each exemplar absolutely unique, never identical to another and for this reason so much appreciated by collectors. Also known as "Pin-cushion cactus" - "Cactus cushion". In its normal form it is a small cactus with a solitary posture, which with age tends to group and in nature can be found in tropical forests. The green stem has several well-defined tubercles, among which a thick fluff forms. The spines are stiff, straight, star-shaped with reddish colors and black tips. The flowering is abundant and forms at the apex of the plant generating flowers of a pale pink with the funnel shape.
