The crested shape of this succulent has the typical compact fan arrangement that makes each exemplar absolutely unique, never identical to another and for this reason much appreciated by collectors. In its normal form it is a graceful rosette formed by oval leaves, pointed at the apex and slightly curved along the median line of each leaf, such to assume in the complex shape similar to a spoonful. The epidermis is glossy, of a beautiful very bright light green that pleasantly contrasts with the finely drawn margins of a red all the more showy and marked the more the plant is exposed to light.
