Cleistocactus strausii f. crested (Crested)

The crested shape of this cactacea is particularly appreciated by green collectors. The stem, made up of dense shallow ribs, is of a light green color covered by small whitish areoles, from which long thin silver-white spines grow, which are similar to a thick white hair that covers it almost entirely. Flowering takes place in late summer blooming with large tubular purple-red flowers.
