Its name literally means "spine of wheat", probably referring to its long spike-shaped inflorescences. It is a very popular plant, due to its caudex, and by many it is believed to be the one, that reaches the largest size in nature (it reaches one meter in diameter and over 70 centimeters in height!), for this reason it's been given the nickname of "monkey's chair". With its extremely varied shapes, which make each specimen unique and different from all the others, the caudex is able to store all the nutrients and the water supply necessary for the plant to survive during drought periods. This plant in a certain sense is "independent", providing an added value to the succulent, which can complete your house decoration, giving a unique and original touch, without requiring demanding care!
