A rare shrubby succulent plant that can reach up to 8 m in height and, if pruned regularly, can become a bonsai. Its erect and branched stem, of a bluish-gray color, is covered with a yellowish-white papery bark. It has small ovoid green leaves. It produces a particular resin (myrrh) which is used to create an essential oil for perfumes. During the flowering period, it blooms with small yellow-greenish flowers.
