Tephrocactus sphaericus corrugatus (Cactus)

The name of the Tephrocactus genus derives from the Greek word 'tephra' - 'ash', which refers to the greyish shades of the epidermis. It is a slow growing cactus with an ovoid green stem, which branches off easily. From its areoles, the short grayish spines arise. You have to be very careful when moving or transferring the plant, because its 'balls' come off easily.
