Tephrocactus pentlandii (Cactus)

The name of the Tephrocactus genus derives from the Greek word 'tephra' - 'ash', which refers to the greyish shades of the epidermis. It is a cactus with a green-gray oval stem, which branches off over time. Thin long cream-colored spines arise from the downy areoles. You have to be very careful when moving or transferring the plant, because its 'balls' come off easily.
