Sulcorebutia tiraquensis (Cactus)

This small cactacea has elongated white areoles from which dense flexible spines of various shades ranging from white to reddish branch off. Solitary, it tends to form tufts over time. The bright flowers, which bloom between April and May, develop from the areoles on the side of the stems and include a very wide range of colors from bright pink to fuchsia but also red.
