Sulcorebutia seinoiana f. variegated (Cactus)

This cactus is made particular and unique by the variegation present on the epidermis; this creates color variations, making the green lighter and yellowish. The variegated form manifests itself at a time when there is a lack of chlorophyll in some places. It is one of the rare species of Sulcorebutia that keeps the same posture and the same spines both when young and when mature. It has a globose stem, slightly depressed at the apex, which does not reach big dimensions but tends rather to quickly access, in order to give origin to pleasant cushions of dark green colour, tending to reddish, with multiple heads (of various dimensions). From the well grooved and rhomboidal tubercles, we note narrow and long areoles, whose white contrasts pleasantly with the yellow-reddish thorns, thin and slightly curved inwards. In late spring the charm of S. seinoiana is amplified by its wonderful flowers with magenta petals that fade into a flashy yellow throat: their luster, similar to silk, will certainly not go unnoticed!
