Sulcorebutia losenickyiana (Cactus)

Pleasant cactaceae consisting of a globose stem, slightly depressed at the apex and tending with the growth to take on a columnar shape; retains dimensions of a few centimeters but abundantly lit at the base, especially in cultivation, until giving life to pretty pillows with multiple heads smaller than the central one. Each body is equipped with conical rather protruding tubercles on which come out long and narrow areoles with thin whitish radial spines, arranged towards the stem like the legs of a spider. In late spring S. losenickyana produces, at the base of its stem, wonderful tubular flowers on the notes of an intense carmine or fuchsia red.
