Miniature cactus, which quickly tends to cluster up to form a mat of many small globose heads and depressed at the apex. It’s stem is completely hidden by thick, whitish thorns of microscopic dimensions, which are arranged in a combed and flattened way along the body of the plant and it’s giving an extremely symmetrical appearance at this plant. S. heliosa comes from arid high mountain areas, therefore it requires very little cares and will delight even the environments of those who do not believe they have a green thumb!
