Art. 54391
It’s a geophytic plant (perennial plant, that spends the unfavorable season in the form of underground buds, from which, every year, it reforms), for this reason it is normal that during the vegetative rest, the plant halves its volume. Ptecactus tuberosus is characterized by its huge underground tuberous root, from which it grows thin, brittle, light blue to brownish-purple stems, covered with tiny spines, and can actually detach really easily. It blooms during summer, and the color of the flowers, which bloom on the tips of the plant, vary from pale to intense yellow. It is a difficult plant to cultivate (it grows quickly during summer, and once the stems become long, they tend to soften and break down).
