Parodia mairanana (Cactus)

It is a plant, that takes its name from its place of origin, Mairana in Bolivia. It has a bright green body and whitish areoles, holding two types of spines: the radial ones are light colored, thin and straight, while the central ones are much thicker, hooked and dark colored. This cactus is very striking in colors, not only for its green, but also for the strong contrast between the epidermis, the spines and the bright orange flower.
