Parodia chrysacanthion (Cactus)

Parodia chysacanthion, also known as “golden powder puff”. It is a green, globular to columnar cactus, with a flattened apex, that can reach up to 10 cm in diameter. It is completely covered with long, golden, needle-like, dense, straight spines, which tend to thicken and point upwards, as they grow closer to the apex, giving the cactus a resemblance to a golden pillow, also thanks to its white down. This plant becomes even more breathtaking in spring, when the yellow of its flowers blends perfectly with the gold color of the entire cactus.
