Beautiful exemplar of cactus native to the tropical areas of southern Mexico with rapid growth. Its green stems are erect when young and become drooping during the growth ( for this reason it is also called Cactus serpent ); they are equipped with ribs and protruding tubercles above which the white and fluffy areoles develop. The thorns of N. serpentinus are whitish with darker tips and with the growth darken even more. The highlight of this plant are its beautiful large night flowers, white, funnel-shaped with slightly pinkish margins and giving off a sweet scent.
