Neoporteria nidus (Cactus)

It is a solitary, globular cactus with a dark green body, which over time can assume a cylindrical shape. It is characterized by long, twisted and thin creamy yellow spines, similar to soft and flexible hair, which almost completely cover the plant and make it easily identifiable. In late spring, funnel-shaped inflorescences of variable shades of pink with a paler throat are born at the apex, that are surrounded by a white down.
