This wonderful exemplar of cultivar due to its monstrous shape is very appreciated by collectors all over the world. The monstrosity lies in its asymmetries, in the reliefs or sometimes even in the lack of thorns. In its normal form this fat plant has a small spherical stem but uniform and geometric. The skin has a purplish colour, which increases with sun exposure; it has well-defined rhomboidal ribs and white areola. Its black spines protrude from these areoles creating a magnificent contrast with the stem of the plant. Its inflorescences at the apex of the plant are funnelshaped, generally on the shades of pink and white, formed by thin petals and arranged in several layers, which give a sheen effect similar to silk.
