Neoporteria clavata (Cactus)

It is a cactus with a green to dark magenta body (tends to become more purplish, if exposed to the sun), with protruding ribs, similar to tubercles, with oval white areoles, from which white spines emerge; some of them are combed and attached to the body, and others are protruding and slightly curved outwards. In late spring, it blooms with funnel-shaped flowers, typical for this genus, that vary in shade from pink to fuchsia.
