Mammillaria gracilis (Cactus)

Dwarf cactus, consisting of cylindrical stems that do not exceed a few centimetres in height, but tend to grow rather agglomerates, generating a sort of pleasant compact cushion with multiple heads. The epidermis of a bright dark green is equipped with roundish tubercles from which emerge thin whitish radial spines, needle-like and not very long. Between these ones, only rarely grow single pale or brownish central spines, similar to bristles slightly longer. The charm of this miniature cactus is accentuated both in spring and autumn, when small and delicate cream flowers bloom.
