Art. 35441
It is a cactus with an initially solitary habit, which is distinguished by the crest, present at the apex of its green stem, covered with rounded tubercles. This species is one of the spiniest of the Mammillaria genus. It has white areoles, from which numerous spines grow: white and flat, which almost completely hide the green stem of the plant; and several longer and stronger black-tipped spines. Flowering occurs only after the plant is 7-8 years old; it blooms with carmine red bell-shaped flowers.
