Really peculiar cactaceae, which tends to grow solitary with its globose stem, slightly flattened at the apex, formed by thick conical and pointed tubercles, among which comes out a thick white down. The epidermis results of a beautiful dark green tending to blue, pleasantly contrasting with the robust thorns, straight and rather long, on the shades of grey that fades towards the black at the apex. In spring the charm of M. amajacensis is accentuated by beautiful funnel-shaped pink flowers, with a darker central rib, which crown the apex of the cactus.
