Islaya maritima (Cactus)

Better known as Eriosyce Islayensis, this small-sized cactus has a globular and cylindrical gray-green stem, which ends at the apex with a light down. It is characterized by its large woolly areoles from which small but dense dark thorns emerge. In its flowering season, which runs from spring to summer, it produces large flowers of a lovely bright yellow color at the apex.
