Gymnocalycium schickendantzii (Cactus)

This cactus does not reach considerable size and tends to maintain a globular shape and a brownish-green color. It has irregular ribs, furrowed by large, fleshy and very evident tubercles, from which emerge sturdy thorns, that can reach up to 3 centimeters in length. The color of the quills ranging from red to yellowish, even brown, but all of them tend to take on gray tones as the age of the cacti. Its dark-colored appearance creates a pleasant contrast with the funnel-shaped white flowers that bloom at the apex .
