Gymnocalycium paraguayense (Cactus)

The name of the species comes from Paraguay, the area of its origin. It is a globular or slightly columnar cactus, which can cluster over time. It has a bright green shiny stem with 5-10 rounded ribs. On the well pronounced tubercles, downy areoles of a color, ranging from white to brownish, are formed, from which up to 20 yellowish spines, up to 2 cm long, slightly curved towards the body of the plant, emerge. In spring, it blooms with large, funnel-shaped inflorescences of a white color with a pink throat. Gymnocalycium paraguayense is a plant easy to grow, it does not require any particular care, so it is ideal also for beginners.
