It is a cactaceae with a characteristic appearance, consisting of a globose stem, slightly depressed at the apex, which does not reach considerable size but is extremely elegant with its light olive green hues. G . deeszianum has little pronounced and asymmetrical tubercles, from which emerge sparse areoles very large and wooly. It is not usually equipped with central spines, but the radial ones are well recognizable: placed like the legs of a spider, they are often slightly curved towards the stem, whilst at other times the most robust and dark, from the orange to the brownish, remain upright and slightly outward facing. The elegance and sophistication of this exemplar are further accentuated by the large flowers that bloom in spring on the notes of a perfectly pure white.
