Gymnocalycium chubutense (Cactus)

Also known as “Gymnocalycium gibbosum var. chubutense”. It is a small cactacea, that can reach up to 9 centimeters in diameter. Its stem is globular and is a bit flattened at the apex, with slightly accentuated vertical ribs. This plant stands out for its particular dark green color, that tends to become black. From the few and distant white areoles dark radial spines grow, which stiffen over time and reach up to 5 centimeters in length. Its funnel-shaped flowers, which bloom near the apex, are yellow inside with petals, ranging in color from white to pink-violet.
