Gymnocalycium baldianum f. mostruosa (Cactus)

The monstrous form of plants usually shows strong changes in the appearance of the plant, such as the loss of thorns or ribs; in this case the Gymnocalycium presents anomalous deformations and protuberances, which make it assume an asymmetrical and unique shape, never repeatable in another specimen. In its normal shape, this cactus has a globular appearance, with a slightly flattened top, in a color ranging from blue-green to grayish-brown. It has well-marked ribs, and from small white woolly areoles emerge long and curved spines of light brown or gray color with reddish shades at the base. It blooms in early summer from an early age and generates large funnel-shaped flowers with a pink-fuchsia color from the lower areoles.
