Geohintonia mexicana f. crested (Cactus)

The crested shape of this particular cactus can have a dual aspect: sometimes fan-shaped and sometimes brain-shaped, with deep sinusoidal inlets. It has a very slow growth, while in the crested form it is even slower, thus it is usually found grafted on other cacti, in order to facilitate their development. In its classic form it is an extremely small cactacea, highly sought after by green collectors for its rarity. It was discovered in 1992; it is a monospecific genus (with the only species). It is generally a solitary plant, but it can also cluster over time. It has a spherical and flattened shape, is of a blue-gray color. Its ribs are deeply furrowed and well defined, and have barely visible areoles with microscopic whitish spines.
