Echinocereus plomosus (Cactus)

Cactacea characterized by cylindrical stems that do not reach a considerable size but rather tend to turn abundantly up to give life to real bushes, very ramified and with a decidedly wild appearance. Each body is equipped with longitudinal ribs not particularly marked along which, from small roundish and woolly areolas, a multitude of thin and straight radial spines emerge on the notes of white or brownish; the central spines are, on the contrary, longer and of yellow-brown colour tending, when the plant reaches maturity, to become greyish. Near the top of the stem bloom in spring wonderful very large tubular flowers on the notes of bright red, which give rise to a perfect combination between their delicacy and the wild and ferocious appearance of the cactus!
