Echinocereus klapperi (Cactus)

It is a cylindrical cactus with a columnar habit. The light green stem, which can branch out at the base, has tubercles, equipped with round areoles. From these areoles whitish spines emerge: the radial ones are straight, arranged in a star shape; the central ones are very long and tend upwards. Its large, deep red, funnel-shaped flowers bloom in spring.
