Echinocereus brandegeei (Cactus)

It is a cylindrical cactaceae with a branched habit. The light green stem has tubercles with large round areoles. Its characteristic brownish-yellow spines emerge from these areoles: the radial ones are straight, star-shaped and rather long, while the central ones are robust, flattened and sparse. In late summer, funnel-shaped flowers bloom, which are more visible in the natural habitat; they are large, double-layered and of a pink-magenta color.
