Echinocereus barthelowanus (Cactus)

Pleasant cactus with a decidedly wild appearance, consisting of a cylindrical body that reaches even 20 cm in height while maintaining a very small diameter, but tending to turn abundantly up to give life to a pleasant thorny pillow with multiple heads, able to expand horizontally up to about 80 cm. The body of the cactus, of a nice bright light green, is equipped with slightly tuberculate longitudinal ribs, dotted with large roundish and white areoles. From the latter come out needle-like and thin radial spines, arranged as rays, and very robust central spines, like daggers, even 7-8 cm long that pass from a brown-reddish hue in juvenile age, up to a cream-colored yellowish when the plant has reached maturity. In spring, near the tops of the stems bloom large funnel-shaped flowers on the notes of rosé or lavender: the charm that is created between their elegance and the ferocious and desert appearance of the plant is absolutely unparalleled!
