Discocactus araneispinus (Cactus)

This specimen of cactus native to Brazil with a globose stem and slightly flattened at the apex tends to create new suckers and to become accessed. Its opaque green stem has several protruding tubercles and is entirely covered by thorns. The latter bloom from the fluffy areolas that are located above each tubercle; they are thin, white/yellowish ( with the growth they generally become brown) and curved towards the stem. The species produces pretty white daisies.
