Cylindropuntia tunicata (Cactus)

The name simply means "Cylindrical Opuntia", in reference to the shape of its branches, are however commonly known also as "Cholla", term with which they were called in the territories of origin. It has a cylindrical and fleshy stem of green color entirely covered by thorns that over time tends to lignify. The stems are very branched, light green and have marked tubercles. The thorns of C. tunicata come out from the white/brown areoles and are very numerous enough to cover the whole plant. The flowering period is late spring and this wonderful cactaceae will give us beautiful flowers of colors ranging from yellow to yellowish green.
