Coryphantha pulleineana (Cactus)

The name of this plant was chosen in honor of Robert Pulleine, an important Australian cactus collector. It is a cactus with an easily recognizable appearance due to its tendentially cylindrical shape, with strongly pronounced conical tubercles and an intense emerald green color. At the top of each there are white rounded and woolly areoles, from which robust spines protrude: the radial spines are thin, short, white-yellowish and arranged in a circular pattern around the areola; the central spines are instead much longer and thicker, well straight and facing outwards, with a strong blackish-brown hue. The wild charm of the ferocious quills contrasts nicely in midsummer with the large bright yellow flowers, as well as all year round with the white and soft fluff that "settles" between one tubercle and another.
