Coryphantha echinoidea (Cactus)

Beautiful cactus with a globular body, which tends to become cylindrical with growth. Its stem is a beautiful opaque dark green, jagged by numerous rhomboid tubercles in the center of which brownish, thin and straight thorns protrude, arranged in a radial pattern around the areola. In the grooves between the tubercles there is often a white fluff, especially at the top, which makes it easily distinguishable. The charm of Coryphantha echinoidea is undoubtedly amplified in spring when, at the apex of the stem, huge white or yellowish flowers bloom, with thin petals, often frayed, with a sheen similar to silk.
