Astrophytum caput-medusae x ferocactus glaucescens chimera (Cactus)

In botany a Chimera is considered to be the plant, consisting of two different species merged together, which clearly shows characteristics of both of them. In this case it is a cross between the species of Astrophytum and Ferocactus, which together give rise to a truly unique cactus: this hybrid has taken from Astrophytum the green color of the epidermis, its thick white dotting and elongated tubercles, which slightly resemble the stems of the A. caput-medusae; from Ferocactus glaucescens it has taken the typical white downy areoles, from which yellow, robust, straight or slightly curved spines emerge. It is a truly rare plant, that absolutely cannot be missing from the collection of cactus lovers.
