Its name was attributed by the ancient Greeks to a Syriac herb, which this succulent probably resembles. It is a very vast genus, consisting of perennials, with elongated and very particular fleshy leaves, but also of deciduous plants, in which a woody caudex of the most varied and unique forms of their kind is usually presented. Sometimes they can be found as dwarf succulents, other times as shrubs. The species are therefore very different from each other, all united, however, by their unusual growth in cold months, and by the typical daisy-shaped flowers (in fact 'Asteraceae' in Greek means "star"), that will decorate your interiors, while all the other plants enter the vegetative rest!
